Surgery

KMEH offers a wide variety of surgical procedures, including surgeries utilizing our new, state of the art CO2 surgical laser, our cryosugical unit, or cold blade surgery. KMEH has the facilities and equipment for standing surgery, injectable general anesthesia, and inhaled general anesthesia with a respirator unit and surgical suite.

State of the Art CO2 Laser

KMEH has implemented the new State of the Art VetScalpel CO2 Surgical Laser by Aesculight. This surgical laser technique reduces post operative swelling and pain for our patients. Bleeding during the surgical procedure is minimized, providing better visibility and precision during surgery. CO2 laser surgery features precision cutting (fractions of a millimeter), surgical ablation/vaporization, and cautery, which are ideal for soft tissue surgeries.

Liquid Nitrogen Cryosurgical Unit

During cryosurgical procedures, KMEH utilizes thermal coupled liquid nitrogen cryosurgery. This ensures appropriate freezing temperatures and thawing times in each of the three freeze/thaw cycles during cryosurgery. This technique is most commonly implemented in massectomy surgeries.

Cold Blade Surgery

Cold blade surgery is the traditional surgical approach using scalpel blades +/- surgical scissors. This technique is used in a wide variety of surgical procedures and can be implemented in combination with the above mentioned surgical techniques.
