Chiropractic Evaluation

Just like people, horses can greatly benefit from chiropractic care. If your horse appears to have back soreness or pain, stiffness through its neck or back, or less fluidity to its gait, a chiropractic evaluation is recommended. During the evaluation, our veterinarians will palpate your horse’s TMJ, along its spine, its limbs, and joints, as well as complete range of motion and flexibility tests to isolate areas of concern. From there, recommended adjustments and any other necessary treatments can be addressed.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Depending on your horse's chiropractic evaluation, specific adjustments will be recommended to help decrease soreness and pain and improve your horse's gait and freedom of movement. A period of rest and certain stretches may be recommended. Depending on the case, a series of adjustments may be necessary, especially in animals that are making significant changes in the way they are using their bodies (growing animals, starting training, career changes, etc.). Improving and maintaining your horse’s neuro-skeletal health will not only help them feel better in the moment, but it can also improve your horse’s body’s ability to heal itself and preserve your horse’s neuro-skeletal health as he/she ages.
